Public Affairs Intern – Sojourner Truth with Margaret Prescod


Sojourner Truth is live Tuesday to Friday from 7 to 8am.  The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment to contribute one day per week (or more) from 6am to 1pm.  Super research and writing skills, audio editing, and web-site development are a plus, but a passion for news is required.


Public Affairs Intern – The Daily Briefing and Background Briefing with Ian Masters


The Daily Briefing is live Monday to Thursday from 5 to 6pm and Background Briefing airs on Sundays from 11am to noon.  The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment to contribute one day per week (or more). Super research and writing skills are a plus, but a passion for news is required


Public Affairs Intern – Beneath the Surface with Suzi Weissman


Beneath the Surface airs on Fridays from 5 to 6pm. The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment to contribute one day per week (or more). Super research and writing skills required, political science/journalism background is a plus.


Public Affairs Intern – The Hutchinson Report with Earl Ofari Hutchinson


The Hutchinson Report airs every Saturday from noon to 1pm. The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment to contribute one day per week (or more). Super research and writing skills are a plus.


Specialized Public Affairs Intern – Think Outside the Cage


A show about prison and the twisted roads that lead to it. From both sides of the prison walls, we will explore the industry whose chief product is human degradation. How and why do people end up in prison? What happens to them once they are there? And, most importantly, where is the resistance building, the movement building, the engines of change inside and out?


Think Outside the Cage airs every other Saturday from 1 to 2pm. The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment.  Super research, writing skills and a passion for Prisoners Rights are a plus.


Specialized Public Affairs Intern – Radio Intifada


Weekly review of politics and culture bringing you the voices of the voiceless from Kolkata to Casablanca. Brought to you by members of SWANA (South and West Asia and North Africa) Collective.


Radio Intifada airs on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3pm. The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment.  Super research, writing skills are a plus, a passion for North African, South and West Asian politics and news required.


Specialized Public Affairs Intern – Digital Village


Digital Village is KPFK's weekly show about computing and the Internet. Ric Allan and Doran Barons. The program focuses on how the new technology is changing the way we communicate, and how we can avoid its abuse.


Digital Village airs on Saturdays from 10 to 11am. The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment to contribute one day per week (or more). Passion for Science and technology is a major plus.


Specialized Public Affairs Intern – Voices From The Front Line

VFTFL features interviews with frontline Labor organizers from across the globe.


VFTFL airs on Tuesdays from 4 to 5pm. The ideal intern would make a four month (or more) commitment to contribute one day per week (or more).  The main responsibility live line producing..taking listener calls and getting guests on the air.


Music Programming Production Assistant – The Global Village


Music from around the world and around the block.


The Global Village airs Monday to Friday from 11am to 1pm.  The ideal intern would make a four month commitment to contribute one day a week to help with the production of the live show.  Responsibilities include: Maintaining/posting hosts play lists, handling ticket and gift giveaways and general assistance.


Development Department Assistant


Assist the Development Director with KPFK special events, graphic design, light administrative duties, audio editing, customer service and more.  Ideal candidates will have knowledge in Photoshop and Cool Edit Pro.


Administrative Assistant (Front Desk Reception)


Front desk interns handle light phones and greet guests, and handle Film Club sign-ups.  Ideal interns will make a six-month commitment to one afternoon per week, Monday through Friday from 1 to 5pm.  It might not seem like it, but it is an extremely important job.


Web Director Assistant


A Web intern assists with updating the KPFK website especially during Fund Drives.  Duties include tabulating reports, gathering information about and helping to post fund drive premiums and special events posting.
